We Believe that...

The Bible is God’s inspired Word, teaching us everything we need to know about Him for salvation and a vibrant faith. “All Scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness”

2 Timothy 3:16

God is Triune (three persons in one Godhead); and our privilege is to live in a relationship of faith with Him as His "disciples," sharing the "Good News" of Christ so that others may also have a saving faith. "Make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. Matthew 28:19

God first created humankind to be perfect. "Be perfect even as your Father in Heaven is perfect." Matthew 5:48

No one is perfect. We have original and actual sin. "All have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God" Romans 3:23; and, " If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us." John 1:8

Jesus Christ, the perfect and eternal Son of God came to be the Savior of the world, dying on the cross of Calvary to pay the price for the forgiveness of our sins. "The Father sent the Son to be the Savior of the world" John 4:14

We receive Christ's forgiveness and are counted as perfect through faith, a gift from God to all who believe. "For it is by grace that you have been saved, through faith (in Christ)." Ephesians 2:8

God's Holy Spirit works this gift through His Living Word and the Sacraments. "Our Gospel came to you not simply with words, but also with power, with the Holy Spirit and with deep conviction" 1 Thessalonians 1:5

Holy Baptism begins the life of faith, and brings forgiveness and salvation to the infant or adult who receives it. "Whoever believes and is baptized will be saved, but whoever does not believe will be condemned” Mark 16:16

Holy Communion gives forgiveness and celebrates the unity that members of our Church share. Jesus said, "Take eat...this is My body; take drink... this is My blood. given and shed for you for the forgiveness of sins"Matthew26:26-28

Being saved means our values and goals for life are changed, that we might live according to God's will, empowered by His Holy Spirit. "(Christ) died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves, but for him who died for them and was raised again." 2 Corinthians 5:15

Human life is sacred, created by God - from conception through natural death. "I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made.” Psalm 139:14
